  18. If this has been your experience, you are one lucky guy. I brought home a 
  19. pack of 25 IBM HD disks one day and decided to test this out for myself.

  21. More than half wouldn't hold a DD format (from my '81) the ones that did 
  22. format would give errors when trying to re access the directory after a 
  23. day or two. A few I got to actually save files on... files that thank God 
  24. I didn't care about, since they dissolved off the disk within a week. =)

  26. Okay I slightly exagerated, but the end result was the same. I've NEVER 
  27. gotten HD disks to work reliably/at all with an '81. Not just mine 
  28. either. Everyone else I've talked to can't to it either.

  30. There was a big discussion a while back, and there are those more learned 
  31. that I on this subject, but when you get down to it, the media is 
  32. different (between DD and HD) and the method of recording is different 
  33. (current strengths and such.)
